i'm a fat guy. i know, accept and in a way have come to love it. i will not be alright with the idea of dying early because i let my gluttonous ways dictate how i live. i have too much to lose and so many reasons to get healthy.

Lunch yesterday was great 3 teriyaki chicken pieces atop salad green and roasted cauliflower on top of that. Great lunch! Ate my 2nd yogurt while watching the unit. Dinner was salsa fish - it was ok - sauteed cabbage was the side. Breakfast this morning we returned to peppers and eggs, snacked on a strawberry greek yogurt. Then just ate lunch - left over cabbage with smell ghost chile sauce and a couple microwave fish filets from gortons. They were surprisingly good - the garlic butter flavorings worked with the spice from the cabbage! I'm full. Still feeling awesome - i've noticed that my gut isn't hanging out the bottom of my shirts like it had been. That makes me really happy!

Dinner last night was this tuna patty that Holly made - good stuff. Added a little salsa to my salad for a little kick. Also had roasted asparagus too. Wanted to snack so badly - but i didn't! Hot water and lemon first thing this morning and just ate my peppers and onions with eggs. Enjoying my black coffee - great morning so far!

Tried some Ghost Chile hot sauce with my yogurt for my morning snack - it was great. Good texture and a kick! For lunch we had the chicken soup - recipe from the book. Delicious and very filling! Some strawberries and a little yogurt ended the meal. For dinner we made turkey cutlets marinated in FF italian dressing and some roasted brussel sprouts with thyme. This morning i had some tri-colour peppers and onions with my eggs. Good stuff!! Doing well with my water too!

got up this morning and had a cup of water with lemon juice. took a whiz and jumped on the scale - just for kicks. i broke the 300lb. mark!!! i know in theory it's water weight, but it's over 3lbs. worth AND that's how the ball gets rolling!
spinach and zucchini fritat is in the oven - now drinking some black coffee. can't give that up - love it too much. did ditch any use of cream to keep within the guidelines of the diet.
i'm feeling great!!!

the eve of the 17 day diet.
yep - i just killed a pint of Ben & Jerry's Mint Chocolate Chunk Ice Cream. this is exactly the type of dietary lifestyle i have been living - and it's the exact reason i'm going to take a leap (alongside my lovable wife) into the 17 day diet.
this isn't my first attempt to lose weight. as a matter of fact, i have tried weight watchers, atkins, south beach, eating healthier, skipping meals, etc. some of those methods have worked in the past - others not so well. fact is, when i am at least conscious of my eating habits (and expanding size) i can do what i need to in order to make it turn around, at least a little.
the big difference is that this is the first time since being married with 2 kids that i have attempted to get back on the healthy living horse. i'm not blaming my wife and kids for my own eating habits. it's my fault and i own up to it. it isn't my family that makes me eat my lunch after i have eaten breakfast while at work, then follow that up by ordering out for lunch because i feel like stuffing my face again. then grabbing a late night snack after the kids go to bed (occasionally behind my wifes back) before we retire. this is of course after eating a very satisfying dinner with the family only a handful of hours prior.
my food choices in the last 3 years have been horrible. not the ones i make at home per se - it's the ones i make when i'm at work or on the road with the band. it's like my greedy side has no control or instead feels that it can just do what it wants when i'm out.
i have no issue being a fat guy. i just don't wanna be dead before my time should come. i have a wife who i am more than a little crazy about - and two amazing little daughters who i care more about than anything! yet, for some reason i feel that it's completely acceptable to thrown down 3-4 breakfast burrito's from the golden arches 2-3 times a week (easily).
it's getting under control now.
that pint of ice cream (though a stupid decision) is symbolic in a way - a death row inmate's final meal request of sorts.
so - this blog is a way for me to be accountable. i plan on sending my diet details, meals, goals, plateaus all via SMS.
it's completely for me. i have no desire to have anyone else keep tabs at this time.
wish me luck!
